*The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)** is a sensor that detects the throttle valve (accelerator opening) of the engine. It plays an important role in engine control and is mainly used for the following purposes:

Throttle opening detection
It detects the opening degree of the throttle valve according to the amount of pressure applied to the accelerator pedal and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU).

Fuel injection volume control
It determines the appropriate amount of fuel to be injected based on the throttle opening and engine speed.

Ignition timing control
It adjusts the ignition timing to suit the throttle opening.

Idle Control
When the throttle is closed, a correction is made to stabilize the idle condition.
