Honda CT125 (Trail125) Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Honda CT125 (Trail125) Throttle Position Sensor
A throttle position sensor (TPS) detects the opening of the engine's throttle valve (accelerator opening). It plays a crucial role in engine control and is primarily used for the following purposes:
Role
Throttle Opening Detection
It detects the opening of the throttle valve according to how much the accelerator pedal is pressed and sends this information to the Engine Control Unit (ECU).
Fuel Injection Volume Control
It determines the appropriate fuel injection volume based on the throttle opening and engine speed.
Ignition Timing Control
It adjusts the optimal ignition timing according to changes in throttle opening.
Idle Control
It makes corrections to stabilize the idling state when the throttle is closed.
