The new oil cooler kit for the new (JA65) Honda CT125 (Trail125) is finally here. (This product is exclusively for the new (JA65) Honda CT125 (Trail125) and cannot be used with previous models.)
The difference from conventional engines is that the oil passage is extended rather than branched. Regarding oil quantity The oil quantity will be approximately 50ml more than the standard amount. After installing the oil cooler, add the genuine specified amount and warm up the engine to circulate oil through the oil cooler body. Then, check the oil level.
For reference, if a reinforced oil pump is installed, the oil pumping volume increases, so to prevent air lock, add about 5mm more than the upper end of the oil level gauge.
During installation Connect pipes to 4 locations. Remove the oil filter from inside the engine cover Install the cylindrical part, replace it with the included lid, and then install.
